Leslie Kende, P.Eng.
Managing Director, Acquisitions & Divestitures
Prior to joining AltaCorp, Mr. Kende was Vice President of Engineering at Vero Energy Inc. (a publicly traded junior oil and gas producer) responsible for: acquisitions, divestitures, reserves and corporate strategy analysis. From 2003 to 2007, he was an integral part of Tristone Capital’s successful Acquisitions and Divestitures practice, with direct involvement in more than $ 8 Bn worth of transactions. Mr. Kende began his career with Amoco Canada, later Crestar Energy, in 1990 in production and development engineering. He has had broad experience across the oil and gas production industry with a third-party reserves evaluator; multi-national production companies; and several junior companies, including Pinnacle Exploration and Cabre Exploration. Mr. Kende holds an Engineering degree from Queen’s University with a specialization in Geophysics, and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Kende is a professional engineer and member of APEGGA. Outside of business, Mr. Kende is a Past Board Member of Rundle College Society, and Past President and Director of the Hounsfield Heights Briar Hill Community Association.
Cliff Johnson
Director, Acquisitions & Divestitures
Prior to joining AltaCorp, Mr. Johnson was employed by Macquarie (formerly Tristone Capital) in their Acquisitions and Divestitures group from 2006 until 2011, where he was largely responsible for data collection and distribution, upside economics, and financial and reserves analysis. From 2003 to 2006, he worked as an analyst at Tristone in Investment Banking, focusing on royalty trusts and the junior and midcap E&P companies. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary with a Distinction specialized in Finance.
Jim Lee, P.Geol.
Director, Acquisitions & Divestitures
Mr. Lee has over 25 years of varied industry experience in geology and engineering, both domestic and internationally. Prior to joining AltaCorp, he worked as Manager of Exploitation at Seaview Energy, where he was responsible for all geological activities. Mr. Lee holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Alberta. He is a professional geologist and member of APEGGA and APEGS.
Kely Wylie
Associate, Acquisitions & Divestitures
Ms. Wylie joined AltaCorp Capital in August 2011, bringing over 8 years of Acquisitions & Divestitures experience. Prior to joining AltaCorp, she was an Associate with Tristone Capital Inc. and its successor Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd. Ms. Wylie is currently completing her certification in Joint Venture Administration from Mount Royal University, and is a member of the Petroleum Joint Venture Association.
